The
words of “TOYOTA WAY” may already be familiar to the ears companies thinkers
who have been active in industrial world. But for layman, it’s still feels
strange and this is what i feel when first to learn toyota way book (presented
by : jeffrey K liker) because the job demands it. But the more i learn the toyota
way, i feels in love with this toyota’s creation. From this book, i was amazed
to Toyota with their system, there are Toyota way and Toyota Production System
(TPS). Because it’s not just toyota is the big and the great company but over
that, they have been taught the basics about a good Company.
Many
companies have implemented this system. However, not all companies successfully
to implement this lean production concept. The lean production is a production
system that only needs a minimal stock. And some area sussessful a moment, and
are even back to the old production system. The cause is not successful it is
that lean is applied in their company whitout a soul. Why is it? Because implementation
of lean not full. Just aplly the techniques and toll of lean only. Such as
kanban, andon, one piece flow, heijunka etc. Whitout the transformation of corporate culture. For it necessary to
develop corporate culture to suport the implementation of lean in the company. The
conclusion, toyota way is the soul and Toyota production System (TPS) is the
body. Toyota way to teach about philosophy and TPS teach tools to achieve that.
It’s a unity that makes a toyota the world’s largets automotive company. More
than the toyota way also teaches the empowerment of all organizations member to
do the continuous improvement. It’s to eliminate waste in a production system.
Toyota
way when condensed into two term. There are continuous improvement and respect
for patners. Toyota has been practicing continuos improvement and the role of
employees in something uniqe.
